” Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” Proverbs 1:7, . Fear? What do I need to fear ? What is this loving God going to do, what has He done ?1 John 4:18 states “perfect love casts out fear”. Seems to be opposing view on fear, we are taught that Christ is Love, perfect. So perfect, Love is present with us every moment and yet, we are to fear? Although this appears to confuse, the truth is ” Fear of the Lord IS the beginning of knowledge”. Think for a moment, knowing what God offers in your life, if you passed that up for the world, would the potential of that loss not invoke fear?? Really knowing exactly what God offers and knowingly disregarding this gift would be crazy right? Proverbs 1:7 goes on to say “but fools dispise wisdom and instruction”. So right, crazy is the one who refuses to take instruction and seek the Lord. Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on you’re own understanding”. The Heart again, all our heart, trust Him for knowledge and not ourselves, not the world, trust only in Him. Seems to me this simple muscle is a central part of who we are and who we become. Ezekiel 36:26, ” I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a NEW heart of FLESH”. Wow I have a new heart of flesh……
